"Dumpstaphunk is simply the best funk band from New Orleans right now."
—New York Times
Formed in 2003 by keyboardist Ivan Neville as a special gig at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Dumpstaphunk has since become one of New Orleans' most popular musical exports. The band's magical first Jazzfest performance blossomed into a full-time musical endeavor featuring a handful of the Big Easy's finest musicians, and they've wowed audiences at the Bonnaroo, Voodoo Fest, and High Sierra festivals, among others. Founders Ivan Neville and Ian Neville (sons of Aaron Neville and Art Neville respectively), along with Nick Daniels, Tony Hall, and Raymond Weber, were brought up in an atmosphere of sounds and rhythms that have arguably become the most defining in all of New Orleans' deep and hugely influential river of music. Dumpstaphunk is the latest chapter in the city’s musical evolution, crafting head-on, inner-city funk for the masses. The members of Dumpstaphunk have recorded and performed with a veritable who's-who of popular musicians over the years, including the Rolling Stones, Dave Mathews, Bonnie Raitt, John Mayer, Trey Anastasio, Emmylou Harris and, of course, the Neville Brothers. We are proud to welcome Dumpstaphunk to Santa Fe.
