We've grown by leaps and bounds since our inaugural festival in the summer of
1999. But our first year still feels very special. In the words of Dirty
Linen magazine, "The triumphant high point (among many high points) was the
long set by Texas songwriting saint Guy Clark...Clark shared one of the most
astounding moments ever, at any festival, when he sang his harrowing tale of
a gunman grown old, while lightning cracked the sky and lit that Old West
street like ghost riders come to call. You don't get moments like that often
in life."
